60-ACRE “PROPERTUNITY”
Here we go again.
At some point, we may need to stop Jeff from praying… or accept that God may keep leading Camp Jonah on these faith-filled, crazy journeys for years to come.
Many of you know the story: over the past 30 years, Camp Jonah has acquired five properties—each one seeming not just unlikely, but impossible. And yet, each time, God made a way. What began with hesitation (Jeff was the original “Jonah,” after all) has become a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
And once Jeff starts praying about something… he doesn’t stop. For nearly 20 years, Jeff has prayed—persistently—for a particular 60-acre property near Trout Lake, about 10 miles from camp. He has driven past it countless times, asking the Lord, again and again, if this land might one day become part of Camp Jonah’s story.
Once again, since January 2026, this property is for sale again. With motivated sellers and a possible foreclosure on the horizon, a door appears to be opening. The land borders the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and includes several existing structures. It is beautiful, expansive, and full of potential—a place where we can clearly envision campers exploring, learning, and encountering God.
When we walked the property, something shifted. It feels so big, so impossible and somewhat overwhelming. And yet… it also feels like God just might be in it. As we celebrate the camp’s 30th Anniversary and begin to think about the next 30 years, this opens wide the possibilities (“propertunities”) for generations to come.
We can see the possibilities: Space to grow without crowding. Meadows, trees, and room to roam. Expanded programs and new opportunities. The ability to serve thousands more campers and guest groups. A foundation for the next 30 years of ministry.
So we are doing what we know to do. We are praying. And we are inviting you to pray with us—to dream with us—to knock persistently on our Father’s door.
Is this the next step God has for Camp Jonah? Is this an opportunity that could multiply impact for generations to come? Could it be that God is inviting us to think even bigger—so that more people might hear and experience the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Before we ask for anything, we give thanks. For 30 years of ministry and changed lives. And we trust God, our Camp Director, for the next 30 years.Thank you for being on this journey with us.
If you have any questions or would like to hear more about the vision and dreams, please feel free to call Jeff at 541-490-3055. Thank you!
Let’s keep praying boldly together.
